Do Yourself a Favor and Take 10


We all need to show up on a daily basis. Our lives measure up to multiple commitments we make to others, whether that’s work, taking care of your children, going to school, or grabbing coffee with a friend. It's easy to mindlessly extend our energy to others, but when do you get the time commit to yourself?

That's why it's essential to dedicate at least 10 minutes a day to your own mind, body, and spirit before giving it up to others. That's why creating a morning routine is so essential to keep a steady mind even in the most chaotic of times.

Here are 3 ways you can rise with the sun a dedicate 10 minutes of "me" before your day starts.

#1 Get Moving

You choose! 10 minutes of Yoga, HIIT, Dancing, or simply jumping up and down. Get your heart rate going no matter how you're doing it, especially if you have a desk job. It's important to move before you have to sit at a desk for 8 hours.

#2 Mediation

You've heard it before, and you'll hear it again, find stillness in the mind and check your worries at the door.

Sit down in a comfortable positon (not too comfortable) whether that's on the floor on or a chair. Then for 10 minutes count 4 beats on your inhale, count beats 4 on your exhale. When your mind drifts (because it will) without judgement, acknowledge, then bring it back to the breath.

#3 Visualization

Think about your dream life! Who you want to be with, the kinds of friends you want in your life, the location you want to be, the job that you want...it's your fantasy so be as simple or as elaborate as you like!

The list could go on and on, but the point here is to take some time out of the day to spend some quality time with yourself before you serve others. This way you will receive good energy for yourself and offer your efforts to others the best way you can.
