Piloxing, yay or nay?

We want our cake and eat it too, right? There seems to be a theme in the fitness world lately *ahem* yogalates (yoga and pilates), yoga sculpt (yoga with weights), and now...Piloxing? Go-er's wear weighted gloves to accompany uppercuts, jabs, and cross punches all before a flowing sequence of inner thigh leg lifts and pumping out the Pilates classic, 100 crunches.
Piloxing is a melting pot of kicking boxing with Pilates movement and regardless of the fact that you'll get buns of steel, toned arms, and chiseled ab's some people are not fond of the new fusion. Pilates has set roots in its foundation, and once it's tampered with, Pilates veterans seem to become very turned off. "It's kind of an insult. I have no problem with people studing Piloxing if you want to be a Piloxing instructor. If that gets you out of bed in the morning, you should do that. But for people who've devoted themselves to the craft, to call it Pilates is a misnomer, and when Piloxing people show up to a Pilates studio, they're confused. They have expectations that we can't fulfill." Says Alycea Ungaro, the owner of Real Pilates in TriBeCa who has been teaching for more than 20 years.

On the other end, Viveca Jensen, the creator of Piloxing states, "I do believe that joseph Pilates would approve. Anything that's good is going to evolve. I want to evolve, and restrictions are only going to make restriction in your life."
So you be the judge, are you going to step outside of the box and into the ring or stick with the Pilates vets?
